This fellowship recognizes the immense contributions made by Stephen Lowry and Mitchell Fink to advancing the science of sepsis, and which will offer rising stars in the field of sepsis the opportunity to sit on the ISF council at an earlier stage of career development than would otherwise be the case. The principle behind the Fellowships it that they will be beneficial to both the ISF and to the Fellow. Fellows would gain from interaction with the council and working on activities with the ISF that will help further develop their international profile. Applicants should be clinicians or scientists (Junior faculty/specialist MD or scientist with PhD), aged under 40 years at time of application with a track record and proven interest in sepsis.

The ISF is pleased to announce the ISF Lowry Fink Fellowships which recognize the immense contributions made by Stephen Lowry and Mitchell Fink to advancing the science of sepsis, and which will offer rising stars in the field of sepsis the opportunity to sit on the ISF council at an earlier stage of career development than would otherwise be the case.

Applicants should be clinicians or scientists (Junior faculty/specialist MD or scientist with PhD), aged under 45 years at the time of application, and with a track record and proven interest in sepsis.

Fellowship Terms of Appointment:

  1.  Duration:

 a. 2 years fixed term

2.  Nominating process:

a.  Self-nomination

b.  Council can propose names

c.  Seek names from other groups

3.  Election:

a. By majority vote of council

4.  Number:

a. 1-2 at any one time

5.  Status:

a. Full voting member of Council during the fellowship

6.  Roles and responsibilities:

a.  Co-chair both a Colloquium and a Sepsis 20xx meeting

b.  Lead author on a summary paper arising from the Colloquium

7.  Qualifications:

a.  ‘Rising star’ in the world of sepsis and infection pathology

8.  Financial Support:

a. As per the ISF travel policy for Council members
